Great Lakes Commercial Real Estate evolved as a means of enhancing the ability of its parent company - Dagenais Enterprises - to continue to provide leadership in the sale, leasing, and development of commercial properties throughout Delta County, and other major communities in northern Michigan.   

The path which led to the outstanding growth of Dagenais Enterprises began back in 1966 when Robert Dagenais purchased his first auto dealership - Riveside Auto Sales in Escanaba, Michigan; and expanded his business, along with the help of his wife Jeanine and their sons.  Now the Riverside Auto Group consists of seven dealerships serving three communities in northern Michigan and one in Wisconsin.   The expansion and success of the Riverside organization paved the way for a diversity of other business interests to emerge over the years.

Today, the three Dagenais sons - Matt, Paul, and Tim are carrying on the tradition and continue to operate the auto dealerships, as well as a leading banking institution based in Escanaba, a shopping center in Marquette, MI., three manufactured housing communities, a residential subdivision development, in addition to numerous commercial real estate holdings.  To share in the rewards from their dedication to these business entities, the Dagenais Foundation was formed in 1994 to provide grants to various community organizations.

Dagenais Enterprises for many years has been a well recognized name throughout most of the central northern Michigan region - both in terms of its business operations, and for its sense of vision into the economic future of these markets.

Part of this vision resulted in the formation of Great Lakes Commercial Real Estate; offering the type of commercial brokerage service that was previously  not available in this region.   

     
COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT:  
The investment in key commercial real estate locations has earned Dagenais Enterprises the reputation of being a top resource for new business site selection and development in this area.  The company, for instance, has provided an entry into its home market for such noted retailers as Wal-Mart and Staples.  Other tenants occupying prime locations under the ownership of Dagenais Enterprises are Sears, Kmart, Dunhams, Family Dollar, Big Lots, Dollar Tree, The UPS Store, Auto Value,Verizon Wireless, AT&T, the Michigan Secetary of State, the US Armed Forces Career Center, and numerous others.
